Karma simply means action. No more, no less. It is the way of the world: a law of action and reaction. It is about influences; the influence of all things on all things, and as this is such a vast network of interactions throughout the universe, it is quite impossible to say what exactly will be the result of any action. Think of the Butterfly Effect, the well known scientific discovery that merely the flapping of the wings of a butterfly somewhere can, in the end, influence the weather on the other side of the world. Karma is what makes an oak tree keep on being an oak, and not switching midway through its life to being a fig tree. It has a strong tendency to ‘oaking’. Karma is the patterns that keep maintaining themselves, and so one can also say that karma is what keeps the world going round, in more or less the way it has been.

You do good and good will come back tg you. Over years I have seen people who believe and practice Karma live very good lives. You put out good and do good work or deeds then good will come back it can be called in the real as Physics. We all know that energy can not be created or destroyed it just changes form. Burn a piece of paper and it and you have heat and carbon left over and you would think that this is all there is. Wrong and the best way to understand it as physics is air conditioning the constant changing forms is AC. In the real an AC does not cool a space it removes heat. Karma is like planting seeds that grow up and into good fruit bearing plants that make your life good. You planted them and they are there only for you. Karma the release of good energy and the return of the same energy released but defined and devloped.

Karma is the belief that all your actions will eventually have consequences, usually in the form of something unrelated. Like, if you cut in front of a guy desperately trying to get to the hospital so you can buy a milkshake, you may suffer two years latter by having your wallet stolen. As you can see, it is pretty absurd.

Karma - those rare moments within which you can pretend to yourself that the universe has it's own sense of justice.
