  • What price would be considered cheap for a flight from NYC to Milan outside of peak season?

I am flying via the aforementioned route. I am constantly watching prices, and don't want to miss out on a good deal waiting for cheaper prices. Today I saw $480 for a roundtrip for 13 days in May. Am I liable to get any lower than that?

  • I need comfort? Going to put dog down in a few hours?

I just need virtual hugs. I m home alone with my dog at the moment waiting for my family to get home in a couple of hours. Then the vet will come and put him down.

He has been suffering with congestive heart failure all year long. Undiagnosed. He got sick this weekend with vestibulr disease. Now all of it is coming about his health issues. He has lost the majority of his eyesight. He can t use his back legs very well. Since Saturdayhe is struggling to breathe and get comfortable as he barks all day long WITHOUT STOPPING.

We were gonna try. He is obn lasik for fluid in lungs, we were gonna set up appointment with cardiologist. But today I was just watching him bark and pant. And I thought he can t do this for long.

I m home alone with him. He is sleeping. Could you please say something nice for my dog. I have had him since I was 5.

  • My friend is moving away? Do I have to pay for?

My friend is moving away because she got a new job.

We are meeting for dinner once last time before she leaves? Am I expected to pay?

I wouldn t mind paying, but I am a student right now and money is really tight. If it is proper etiquette for me to pay I will, I ll just be careful in choosing where we go.

    Thanks for your answers.

  • Question about the law of attraction, cause and effect?

So, I have come across many who explain that

    1. we create our own reality based off of level of consciousness/spiritual awakening/the level of vibration. We attract things that are similar to what are are already/ have already experienced.

It is then thought that subconsciously, we create the problems in our life by continuing negative patterns/ways of thinking/being. And that until we take accountability for that, it will not change.

But this conflicts in my mind. For example, many have explained that if you think negatively about a situation, then the negative thing will happen. But what if you are just being discerning and past experience has shown you that the outcome is likely. Are you still responsible for creating it?

I.e. I am afraid that my ex husband won t pick up the kids on time. When he calls to arrange plans to get them the next day, I can t help but thinking repeatedly "he s going to be late." Surely, he is. Did I create that experience for myself?

  • Can you advise me on how to handle this situation at work?

I have a job offer and will be resigning from my current position in two weeks.

My coworker crush and I work on the same very large floor in different offices. We met in Decemeber during the company holiday party and we had a nice chat about our positions and education. The conversation was very causal and it felt very comfortable taking to him. After we spoke, while mingling with other people I caught him giving me the eye.

To be honest, ever since that encounter I have been intimidated by him. He is very good looking, has a higher rank in the company, and is about 10 years my senior. I saw him on another occasion and was like a deer in headlights.I think he might have sensed that and maybe took it for stand offishness.

We see each other every now and then but all he says is hi and keeps it moving.

I just wanted to know if I should make a move and how. It would not be the end of my world if I didn't/ was rejected. I'm just trying to be a little more outgoing in life I general and don't want to have any what ifs when I leave.

  • Should I begin or end my vacation with a concert?

Later on this year I will be attending a concert in another state, for which I have already purchased tickets for. My friend who lives in that state will be accompanying me to the concert, but I am going to have my own accommodations. I have no restrictions when it comes to dates/leave requests because my job is flexible. I will be staying for a total of 9 days, and I have other non date specific things that I would like to do.

I am asking your opinion as to whether I should arrive a day or so before the concert and start off my vacation that way, or should the concert be one of the last things that I do before leaving?

  • For those of you who left home at 18?

A question for those who left home and 18 and moved away (another state, country) from family and friends (excluding college), or those who moved away later on in life without any support.

What gave you the courage to make such a move? How did deal with having to support yourself? Did you ever not have enough money? How did it turn out for you?

How long did it take you, or at what stage in your life did you cease caring what thought about you/ allowing others' opinions to define you?

  • Does anyone live in Tierra Santa?

I used to live there when I was a little girl, and I cherish what little pleasant memories I have of it. I moved all the way across the country, and have never been back. I have felt more connected to San Diego, than where I moved to, and I am trying to imagine what life would be like had I stayed.

I understand that there is no way you can tell me what my life would be like had I stayed (obviously). Rather, I'm looking for you to tell me what you like about living there, what you can't stand about it, and every thing in between. I can't wait to come back and visit; it's been a long time coming. Once a Californian, always a Californian...:) :) :)

  • College dillema: Should I stay or should I go?

    Your Question

College dillema: I urgently need opinions of what I should do?

I will try to keep this as short and to the point as I possibly can without losing the severity and urgency of the situation. This particular issue is quite humiliating, discouraging, and intimidating.

I am currently a freshman at my state university. I just moved in on Saturday, and Wednesday will be my first day of classes. However, I absolutely hate where I am, and I say that with a heavy conscience. Just to give some background info, I was very academic in high school and graduated magna *** laude. I applied to several universities in various states and got accepted to most. However, I could not afford to attend them due to out of state/private school tuition. I received large scholarships, but they just weren't enough. I am not eligible for financial aid based off of my parent's income.

So why not go to my state school? Well, f moved to this state during my early childhood, and I have ALWAYS disliked it here. I have never fitted in with the culture or the people. My state school is located in a dangerous community, with very little to do on or off campus. The infrastructures on campus are very old and run down. I currently have THREE roommates and no air condition, and the whole floor shares two showers, two toilets, and two sinks. However, this state school is highly accredited, the opportunities are advantageous, I can afford the tuition, and I have been accepted in a highly selective scholars program. My biggest problems are that I don't feel safe here, and I am not happy here.I cannot imagine being focused here. I am lacking the connection that you should have with your university, and my gut tells me that I need to get far away from here.

Therefore, my question is, should I stay here or should I go to community college with the hopes of transferring elsewhere? I certainly understand the value of ducation and I am aware of the thousands of people who would love to take my place, seeing that I am a daughter first generation college graduate parents. I have been trying all year to change my thinking and to give this place a try, but as each day passes I feel more strongly about disliking it here. I am afraid that if I leave, I will have passed up a wonderful opportunity that I might never get again. My father is angry with me and threatens that if I leave I will be on my own tuition wise after I get my A.A. I fear that I might end up completing my A.A and still not being able to afford an education elsewhere and end up right back here. However, I am also very afraid that I will stay here and be unhappy, and will regret this decision for years to come, as well as not performing well due to the lack of motivation. Should I just suck it up and stick it out here? Or should I try to find a place where I will be more comfortable?I always dreamed of receiving a college education, and I want to enjoy this time in my life. I must make a decision before classes start on Wednesday.

Thank you for reading this, and for giving your insight. I truly am looking for answers at a very difficult imIMn my life. Thank you .

  • Are you an out of state student attending UCLA?

I know that UCLA is very selective, especially when it comes to out of state students. So, 1.) What was your academic profile when you applied, 2.) How are you paying for your out of state tuition, 3.) Are you happy with your decision to attend UCLA?

  • Have you forgiven your parents?

I'm having difficulties forgiving my parents for my upbringing. I was never abused in any physical way, and I had a roof over my head and food in my stomach, but there are mistakes I feel that were careless and I feel have impacted me to this day. Many times, they did not put the interest of us kids first. I know that everyone makes mistakes and that our parents "do the best they can" but honestly, I feel that they could have done better.

Have you forgiven your parents? If so, how?

  • What to do when someone refuses to apologize?

I have a friend who said something disrespectful about my mother, and there is no question that she meant it in a negative way. At first it hadn't sunk in, but the next day I approached her and asked for an apology. I told her that I was offended and wanted her to apologize. When she started to apologize she was laughing and giggling, and making quotation marks with her fingers. When I told her that I was being serious, she said "Well I'm being serious too" and that was the last I heard from her.

I am not speaking to her because I told her what was bothering me, I asked for an apology, and she refused to do it. I realize that people make mistakes and say things that they shouldn't, and I am ready to forgive her, I just want her to assume responsibility for her hurtful words.

Therefore my question is should I ask her to apologize again, or will that be begging for an apology? The statement she made cannot go unaddressed, and there is no way we can continue on without acknowledging what was said. What should I do?
