Dream school is a year behind me in math?
Okay, so I'm applying to high school. I'm in 8th grade now and I'm taking Geometry. There's this one school that would let me take Trigonometry but my other interest is musical theatre and their program is not terrible, but not as good as this other school. The other school has an amazing musical theatre program and would basically be my dream school except this: They won't let freshmen take Trigonometry even if they've already gotten an A in Algebra I and II and Geometry. I can't decide between the two because I love math and musical theatre equally! Please help!!

I'm going to ask you to envision yourself in two situations: one in the first school, the other in the second school. Which one would you prefer?
To be honest, I think that it depends on what you are planning to pursue in life. If you want to be a musical theater guy, then choose the one with the better program. However, if you want to do anything else. math is more useful, as it is applicable to more situations in life.
Hope that answers your question. If it doesn't, do what you think is best for you.

You don't say where you live. If you told us what school system you are in, you might get a decent answer.
I'm a recently retired NYC public school teacher. I frequently help 8th graders like you figure out how to rank schools on thei high school application. If you live in NYC I can possibly help you, but only if I know which two schools you're talking about.
