If Rambo rode a Harley Davidson in “First Blood” rather than a Yamaha XT would he have gotten away from the cops?
What an awesome movie! I get chills every time I watch this great cinema! I have always had one question that burns in the back of my mind. At one point during the movie, Rambo is fleeing from the cops. He gets on a crappy rice burner bike and fails to outrun the law enforcement. If he had ridden away on an HD bike, like a Sportster, would he have gotten away?

The speed of radio transmission versus any motorcycle makes the motorcycle the loser unless Capt. Kirt is riding and says 'Beam me up, Scotty'. LOL!
Ditched the police a number of times riding my dirt-bikes on the street illegally but Plan A wouldn't have worked if there were two or three police units on scene.

No the HD frame would have broken on the first jump - the 2 stroke sounding 4 stroke enduro was a clear choice. Besides knocking the kid of the Yammy took much less time than trying to wrestle "Bear" off a Sportster.

The XT would have been far better as a getaway bike than anything HD have made. I think it is amazing how blinkered US people are about HD bikes and how they think they are so good when in just about every respect other non - USA produced bikes beat them hands don. I admire the patriotism but it is blind.

Rambo rode a Honda in that. XL 500.

Yes but that would've been the end of the movie and not very entertaining.

No. The HD moves too slowly, plus it would not be able to get up the hill. if any HDs were shown in that movie they were shown correctly by not running.
