This is a thing you should discuss ONLY with your OWN vocal teacher during your OFFLINE one-on-one lessons, because your teacher knows your voice best (if you don't have a teacher yet please get yourself a GOOD one NOW). If your teacher does not know how to explain or demonstrate things well enough for his/her students, then you need to get yourself a better teacher. Trying to obtain random "advice" online is as HAZARDOUS for oneself as trying to perform a surgical operation after watching how it is "done" in Holby City or Chicago Hope!
