I got my lip pierced a couple weeks back and I have a minor infection...?
I got spiderbites a couple weeks ago and had two captive rings put in...everything has gone great so far, except that I seem to have a minor infection...each hole (on the outside) looks like a small pimple and a couple of times a day I can squeeze a tiny bit of pus out...I have been rinsing my mouth and cleaning the outside with saltwater (using sea salt)...it feels really good, no pain, but I can't get the infection to completely heal...so a couple of nights ago I started taking like a teaspoon of water and mixing salt with it until it is thickened up, then putting it on a bandaid and placing the bandaid over the piercings for an hour and a half or so...afterwards the spots look more dried out and such, but I want to make sure this won't cause any problems...I also want to know if I could do it longer...like put the salt on and leave it all night while i sleep? knowledgeable answers would be great...thanks!
the directions i got from the piercer (been piercing and tattooing for like 30 years and is practically famous in this area) were to rinse with listerine 5-6 times a day, clean with antimicrobial soap, and use bactine in between washings...the listerine seemed to be irritating it so I switched to sea salt rinses which make it feel much better...also, I squeeze it because otherwise there is a not-so-sexy yellow ring around the edges of the holes...how long will it take to stop pussing?
