  • Is the word "extra" dependent on the presence of an original amount greater than zero?

Say you have a piece of cake with no icing...if you added icing would it be considered extra or would the word extra be dependent on having icing to begin with? I am using food as an example because the word extra is very common in the food industry...basically, is adding something where there is none considered "extra" or do you need an oroginal amount of something first?

  • why are people so offended by Christmas?

I work at a university where the word Christmas has been banned because it offended someone...the same kind of thing is happening at my kids elementary school, but then they still talk about santa and one of my sons made a menorah as a class project...and the same people who are offended by the word Christmas still give out presents and celebrate the holiday...why is Christ and Christianity victimized while other beliefs are tolerated and even intentionally included?

  • Bare skin is the best lingerie? Guys do you agree?

The majority of guys will agree that we enjoy a good negligee or school girl outfit or whatever...my question is, am I the only guy would be just as turned on by his wife/girlfriend being totally nude when he gets home?

  • I got my lip pierced a couple weeks back and I have a minor infection...?

I got spiderbites a couple weeks ago and had two captive rings put in...everything has gone great so far, except that I seem to have a minor infection...each hole (on the outside) looks like a small pimple and a couple of times a day I can squeeze a tiny bit of pus out...I have been rinsing my mouth and cleaning the outside with saltwater (using sea salt)...it feels really good, no pain, but I can't get the infection to completely heal...so a couple of nights ago I started taking like a teaspoon of water and mixing salt with it until it is thickened up, then putting it on a bandaid and placing the bandaid over the piercings for an hour and a half or so...afterwards the spots look more dried out and such, but I want to make sure this won't cause any problems...I also want to know if I could do it longer...like put the salt on and leave it all night while i sleep? knowledgeable answers would be great...thanks!

  • See through dresses...what is up with that?

So I work in a restaurant at a University. The restaurant is in a large building that is basically a big food court. I see literally 5000-7000 students every day...going by the typical ratio of the United States and particularly that age group, way more than half of these students is female...now taking into account that I don't actually notice every single female that walks by, I am going to guess anywhere from 50-100 college age women come by my restaurant every day in dresses that can be seen through fairly easily...also, this is indoors with a mix of indirect sun and artificial light, so these dresses would be transparent in bright sunlight...my question is, do girls wear things like this on purpose? or are they actually unaware? I just think it unlikely that they would look in the mirror and probably ask their friends how they look and no one would notice the see-through quality of the dress...

  • Cleaning a lip piercing...how much is too much?

I am following the instructions given by my piercer (listerine 5-6 times a day, wash with antibacterial soap, and use bactine in between washes) but I am concerned about cleaning TOO much...I know that overcleaning a piercing can cause irritation, dryness, and even end in infection so I want to make sure I am no cleaning too much and also find out what signs I should look for that will let me know if I am cleaning too much or not enough?

  • What is the section of skin between the top of your cheek and the end of your eyebrow called?

There is a softer kind of thin feeling piece of skin right at the outside corner of your eye...it's fairly small, but it is also clearly not part of your eyebrow, eyelid, or cheek...I have googled the crap out of this and found nothing that gives it a specific name...I am asking because I would like to get that piece of skin pierced, but so far the closest thing I have found is the "anti-eyebrow" piercing but that is almost always lower than what I want (more the upper cheek than the actual corner of the eye)...

  • Please don't be offended by this...?

I am going to ask a question that I feel horrible saying, but it's from true experience...I work at a stir fry restaurant on a college campus...our campus has a higher than average number of asian students, and a large portion of them like to eat stir fry every day...I am just telling you this so you know that through the school year I see easily 100 asian students a day come through my restaurant...the restaurant is custom stir fry so people look through a window and pick what they want in their stir fry...now for the tough question...why do so many of them stink? I mean, I'm on the other side of a sneeze guard with the smells of vegetables and spices right in my face and I still smell them clear as day through the glass and everything...is there a condition or a belief or something that prevents them from taking showers or wearing deodorant or something? It's mostly guys, but even a few girls have come through...not saying other races don't have stinky people, but I have noticed ALOT of the asian students having this problem and other workers have said they notice similar things...does anyone know if there is any particular reason that these boys/young men smell so bad? This is a serious question, because maybe if I knew a valid reason other than just not taking care of themselves I would be more sympathetic about it...

  • Uni Sashimi...?

So I have been watching videos of people catching, opening, and eating sea urchins...my issue is that I live in west central ohio (40 minutes from indiana)...so i am wondering where i could get raw urchin in this area? I am kind of a foodie, and I never turn down a new food, so I would really like to try this but considering it is my first time tasting it I don't want to pay a bunch of money at a restaurant for it...any ideas??

  • Why is the entire world late? or atleast most of the United States?

So I am 31 years old...over the last 15 or so years of being responsible and having to get myself places I have rarely been late...I can count the number of times I have been late to anything on two hands, and those times were often the result of someone else being late and I had no control over the situation...I guess I don't know why so many people seem like they just CAN'T make it anywhere on time...I have 3 boys ages 7, 6, and 3 which are terrible sometimes to get ready and out the door, but I am still on time the majority of the time...why then, is it so hard for other people who have no kids and aren't married to get themselves places on time?

  • Is this possible? Math issue...?

My job is required by a union to give every full time employee 40 hours a week...we are also only scheduled for 8 hour shifts which means 5 days a week and 2 days off...each work week runs Saturday to Friday with a two week pay period...my question is is it possible to work 12 days in a row in a two week period without going over 40 hours in one week?

  • Do women tend to be more "experimental" on their honeymoon?

The majority of women now days have sex well before they get married, which kind of defeats the whole "giving her virginity to her husband on their wedding night" concept...so do women now days agree to try more new things sexually on their honeymoon than they would on any given day? maybe as a way of making it more special for the husband?

  • Why don't you see zucchini bread/muffins sold anywhere retail?

I always see banana nut, blueberry, cream cheese, and even strawberry muffins sold in gas stations and grocery stores, and then all sorts of breads (including banana bread and pumpkin bread) and cakes and rolls but I never see zucchini bread or zucchini muffins...does zucchini go bad faster or have a shorter shelf life? Does anyone know why zucchini breads are not sold in very many places retail but are equally as popular as banana bread when home made?

  • Why do we call Native Americans "Indians"?

To me this clearly seems like a mistake that occurred when Christopher Columbus thought he was in India when he found North America...so why would this profound mistake carry over for so long? Not to mention, Columbus has really nothing to do with the United States, so why are we copying a mistake that he made so long ago? Even stranger, why do Native Americans refer to themselves as Indians? I would think they would know better than anyone how incorrect this is. I am 1/32 Navajo and the other day I told someone I had a little Indian in my blood and after I said it it just started to bother me that we have misnomered a large portion of our population...

  • How does Pokemon Go keep track of my location without wifi or data?

I do not have a data plan on my phone, so I can only play Pokemon Go when I have wifi access...when I leave a wifi accessible area it still shows my character moving along streets and into buildings (though it does NOT show any Pokemon while I am traveling)...without data or wifi, how can the game track my movement?
