Cleaning a lip piercing...how much is too much?

I am following the instructions given by my piercer (listerine 5-6 times a day, wash with antibacterial soap, and use bactine in between washes) but I am concerned about cleaning TOO much...I know that overcleaning a piercing can cause irritation, dryness, and even end in infection so I want to make sure I am no cleaning too much and also find out what signs I should look for that will let me know if I am cleaning too much or not enough?

Update:

I don't know if it matters alot, but I got spider bites and they are only a few days old...I got them done this past Saturday (9/10/16)...

It sounds like you went to a less than wonderful piercer.

Soaps should never touch a piercing. Bactine is the worst thing for a piercing. A piercing is a puncture wound, and on the back of the bottle is says not to use on a puncture wound.

Go to the drugstore and get sterile saline spray, wound wash. The only ingredients should be sodium chloride and water. Spray the piercing 2 times a day, morning and night. This flushes out the piercing without getting in the way of how your body heals. Use alcohol free mouthwash after eating. That is all you need to do. Anything else and anything more will just irritate the piercing and cause prolonged healing.

You shouldn't use the listerine or anything else with alcohol in it. Alcohol is not good for healing skin. That's what the bactine is for. And you only need to wash it 3 or 4 times per day. Keep your mouth/lips clean and don't **** with it. It'll heal just fine.
