Are anti-vaccination people left wing or right wing?

I'm not sure they can all be pigeon-holed. Many of them do seem to be right wingers who don't trust the government or who believe more in faith healing. On the other hand, there are probably some of the granola crowd on the left who don't believe in vaccinations for some reason or another.

By the traditional definitions, "right-wing" implies authoritarianism, and "left-wing" implies anti-authoritarianism. By those definitions, the anti-vaccination position is left-wing.

But you have to recall that our use of the terms "left" and "right" are heavily skewed right now.

EDIT - Reading the comments, I can't let this go. A few folks refer to "right-wingers" who don't want the government to tell them what to do. By the traditional definitions, "right-wingers" are those who support a strong, authoritarian central government. People are confusing "conservative" with "right-wing," which are two completely separate things.

One thing that is shared among all peoples in our great land is our God granted capacity for some serious stupid, and it's spread around abundantly, regardless of race, creed, sexual orientation, or political affiliation.

There are "crazy people" across the political spectrum, but the anti-vaxxers tend for the most part to be conservatives (Right-wingers) who don't want "the government" telling them ANYTHING.....
