So I sing second soprano in choir and I am wondering what my voice type is. I heard that 2nd sopranos are most likely mezzos but I looked up videos of mezzo and soprano opera singers and I sound more like the sopranos, I dunno.

I mentioned in a previous post that I sing second soprano in choir and I wanted to try to be in the concert. My choir is non audition so members range from really bad to a few members being choir directors themselves.

Anyway, the choir only has 30 tenors/basses so he will only bring 30 sopranos/altos. We have maybe 40 who want to go so I dont have to beat everyone, just not be one of the worst.

Most of the sopranos who want to go are first sopranos. Most of the seconds dropped out because they think some of the music is too high.

Anyway, the audition song is the runs in And He Shall Purify. I practiced them over and over again but my voice just doesnt seem have the flexibility to nail it. I dont know if it is because my technique is off or what.

Any advice? Also the only embellishment I put is crescendoing up to the first purify like we have been instructed.

Do second sopranos have a place in Handel's Messiah or should we all just stay home?

Just singing it over and over again in Handel's Messiah and wondering what it is about. Not religious.

Not me, but something I heard of. I can see why the guy wouldnt be equipped to take care of someone who will no longer be able to care for themselves, at the same time I feel it s a horrible to break up with a girl right when her whole world is falling apart.

I was with her for 2 weeks and it was fine, and then she got a boyfriend and he is now living here. They play music loudly until 2 in the morning and have sex VERY loudly and VERy often (4 times in one day...I know because I heard it...) and wake me up. Now I need to move out if I want to get sleep, but it is the end of the month. I found a new place just today.

Do I still have to give a 30 days notice when there was no contract and she suddenly has a live in boyfriend?

I find that smell unpleasant and I was wondering if straight girls/gay guys would find it hot.

So I am a 28 year old adult and my relationship with my mom is toxic. Long story short she beat me a lot when I was a kid because she is Chinese and I was getting Bs. Then when I was 20 and got my driver's license she gave my my dad's old used car to drive.

That was 8 months ago. Ive been diagnosed with depression by a psychiatrist and he says it's because of my past abuse from an overbearing mom. I stopped talking to my mom and she tried to get relatives to call me and guilt me into unblocking her from my phone. Now she sends me an email saying she is going to report the old junk piece of crap Ive been driving as stolen because it's technically under her name as the owner even though I have been paying the insurance. The car's a 2005 honda accord with no autolocks or anything, probably worth 3 grand or so. I have over 15k in the bank can easily buy a used car to replace it but I would need to drive my car back to her house and park it there and meanwhile go car shopping and it will take a a few days, if not a few weeks. Would I seriously get arrested for grand theft just because my mom is trying to trap me into talking to her?

There she is, advocating equal pay for men and women, while he is advocating grabbing those women.

Or would that be rude? It is a coworker.

I had some issues since childhood due to my dad's alcohol problems and their extreme parenting and finally saw a therapist today. Since I am crying on a regular basis he suggested I see a psychiatrist for antidepressants.

A lot of these visits will be during work hours so I will have to let my manager know I am going out for "errands" but if I go on too many errands it may look like I dont care about my job and am just going to job interviews andd stuff. Should I let my manager know I am getting treatment for depression?

So I was walking by these stores and I see a teenage boy of about 18 sitting outside with a homeless sign. I walked past him and then turned back around and asked him how he was homeless when he was so young. He said his parents kicked him out and he had no friends to rely on. He said it so bitterly that I suspected abuse. His clothes were worn and he looked a little dirty, and I felt bad for him and I gave him 40 bucks.

15 minutes I came out of the grocery store and he was already gone. I wonder, do you think he was faking it?
