It's a way of expressing the Bible verse.
Ye must be holy because I the Lord am a holy God therefore be ye holy as I am holy.
And the Levites were the priest tribe of Israel they had to be physically clean and do the purification sacrifices constantly to be ceremonial clean.

I assume you're talking about the blue jeans although I have no idea why. It is important that they arrive at the retailers in clean condition.
