Could I be allergic to straw? Or straw dust?
I was sweeping up straw in a barn and I sneezed about 40 times. I almost lost my voice and I coughed for like an hour after. Is there any medicine I could take that could help? I'm going to join the FFA team for my school and help out with the chickens in the barn, I don't wanna be sneezing left and right of I'm sweeping again. I think it might be the dust because I can be around regular straw and I'm fine but when I sweep I think the dust gets me.

Yes. I am very allergic to straw. I tried to spread some in my yard after seeding it and thought I would die, couldn't really breath. Had to give up and have my husband do it later in the day.
