Will I lose weight by portioning ?

I only drink water and eat around 1200 cals a day

    You need to eat more than that. You should focus on healthy eating. 2000 calories, up to 135 carbs. Portioning is pointless unless the food is healthy. So picture a small dinner plate. 1/4 of the plate should be protein, 1/4 whole wheat, 1/2 fruit and grains. Drink half a cup of water per hour awake. No sugar, soda, or white flour. Cook from scratch.

    Be sure to increase your activity level.

    Yes, if you reduce the portions at each meal you can lose weight.

    If you get a healthy amount of exercise each day (around 1 hour) then yes.
