Decreased libido. I take Lisinopril for high blood pressure. Difficult to maintain an erection. Chalk it up to old age?

Lisisnoprl is not usually implicated in causing ED.

However, hypertenson can cause it. One of the effects of high blood pressure is that arteries become narrowed from long term constriction to prevent the excessive pressure injuring the end organ tissues.

Since erection is dependent on sufficient blood flow, the effect can cause erectile dysfunction.

Medications like Viagra cause those blood vessels to open up again, allowing for the flow needed to maintain penile tumescence.

You likely would benefit from ED drugs. Speak with your doctor about it.
