Why do people think that abortion is a Christian vs Atheist question?

Pro-life people say that abortion is murder, pro-choice people say it is not murder. And since one of the few things Christians and Atheists agree on is that murder is wrong, it is a question whether abortion is murder or not.

(I don't care about your opinions on abortion, if it has nothing to do with my question!)

It's not a Christian vs. Atheist question. I know pro life atheists and pro choice Christians. The debate on abortion is independent of the discussion of the existence of God.

Because it's something they tend to argue about a lot.

Some Christians think that evolution is synonymous with atheism, but it isn't.

Some atheists think that all Christians deny Science, but they don't.

I guess there are just a lot of myths about!

    The numbers prove it out

Not all Christians are Pro Life (sadly)

Not All Atheists are Pro Abortion (happily)

but the preponderance of the numbers shows it is a moral issue and morality is a religious issue

In the US abortion is not and never will be murder. The consitution protects the rights of women to control their own bodies and make their own healthcare decisions and as long as the consitution is the supreme law of the land it is illegal for any laws to define abortion as murder. If it is not defined as murder in the criminal code then it is not murder no matter how many religitard nutcases rant and whine.

Women on average have two miscarriages in their lifetime, which would be an act of god or gods will. This would make the god the biggest abortionist in the world... (Or at leasts he allows it to happen, which means it is ok by him, he is powerless or unwilling to intervene)

Now if you make abortion illegal you would have to investigate all abortions to see if they were of natural causes or done on purpose.

Tell me this .... Why is it that when someone kills a pregnant woman, they get charged with a doubled homicide ?

Answer: Because 2 lives were taken ! The baby is alive & by law, counted as such.

    Summary: Abortion is murder.

I don't think it is. I have heard good secular arguments against abortion.

Of course its murder..atheists don't believe these premie babies are anything but globs of cells that can be ripped out of a woman's body..they're hypocrites

    Yes murder is wrong.

The bible even goes over abortion many times and doesn't condemn it at all. The bible also states when life begins (the first breath) so as a fetus hasn't had its first breath it cannot be life and therefore it is not murder.

This is using the bible without interpretation.
