Is there any difference between grey and gray? Besides spelling?

    The two spellings are both acceptable in the US. But if you look up "gray" in the Cambridge Dictionary of Essential British English, you are given "grey" as the preferred spelling. It is possible that some American writers think that "grey" seems English and therefore more "classy."

    Depends where you are. Gray is American while grey is english. Not sure if this is true but gray could be used in names while grey is used for colours.

    None other than that a "gray" may also refer to a type of horse.
