Fantasy football trade?

I was offered Matt Jones and Jeremy Kerley for Ryan Mathews and Allen Hurns.

Mathews lack of touches is a little worrisome, but he he'S as good a bet as any to score a TD. Hurns has started a little slow but is coming off of his best fantasy output of the season and Jacksonville firing their OC could light a fire under the offense.

Matt Jones has had some injury concerns and Robert Kelley ran pretty well in his place, so he could lose some touches. Kerley has been essentially a non factor since Kaepernick took over, but played pretty well early in the season.

I am deeper at receiver than running back so I'm really contemplating this offer. What do you think?

  • No to this trade you are giving up the best player in the deal with allen hurns. You want no part in the 49ers offense outside of hyde. Matt jones may not even be the starter when they come off bye because of all his fumbling issues. Agreed that ryan mathews is not great right now but can sproles handle the early down work for the rest of the season...I"m skeptical he can hold up from 20-30 touches a game and 10-15 between the tackles.

If your weakness is at RB, this may not be the ideal trade, but it definitely improves you there. Reports have been floating around that the Eagles are souring on Mathews and it isn't just Sproles who he's competing with. Smallwood is waiting in the wings. Jones isn't a legit bellcow, but the Skins are very much in the hunt and they need him for their running game to work.

Just be aware that you're taking a fairly big hit at WR. With Kap under center, Kerley is bench fodder. You don't say how big the league is, but even in a large one, he's got a QB who can't pass. In the 2 games since Kap took over, he has a total of 4 receptions for 27 yards, including a dream matchup vs the Saints.

    I'd say no.

Mathews isn't getting many carries, but Jones isn't even healthy enough to play (and Kelley may have just stolen his job, certainly cut into his playing time).

Hurns is a better player than Kerley, and could be valuable if Bortles gets his throwing motion fixed.

This is a pretty minor trade that should only affect your bench depth. I wouldn't take on an injured Jones. Turn it down.

Don't take it. Matt Jones' value just took a nose dive. He shouldn't even be on a roster

    Take the deal.
