New to Kidney diet...can use some help?
Three months ago I was diagnosed with kidney failure. since then I have been on dialysis three times a week, with little success. the nurses tell me it's because the fistula is in neck rather than my arm. staying on the diet is next impossible for me and I have a question.
if i'm not compliant on the diet can it cause different symptoms?...such as itching,

The goal of the diet is to minimize the amount of metabolic wastes that need to be removed by the kidneys. Noncompliance with the diet causes wastes to reach higher concentrations in the blood. The waste materials can cause symptoms such as itching, nausea, and muscle cramps.

yes, not following the diet will increase all the annoying symptoms that go with a buildup of wastes.
