Can I turn off certain Y!A categories?
"There are three things I learned never to discuss with people. Religion, politics, and the Great Pumpkin."
Basically I see categories that do not interest me at all. I switched off recommendations because it sent me questions in categories I'm not interested it, or got old PDQ.
Can I turn on and off categories without having to browse specific categories all the time? Does get boring.

You can 'pin' your favorite categories/subcategories to easily reach them without having to go through the main Y!A homepage. To do so, go to a favorite category's homepage and click the pin icon (to the right of the category name). You can then click to that category from any Y!A page or your profile and go directly to that category or subcategory.
Unfortunately, there's no way to eliminate specific categories from the main question feed. If your habit is to browse the Y!A main homepage, you'll see whatever's posted there at the time.

Go to "answers home".
Click on "customize feed".
Click on "manage" next to "my categories".
