Is it illegal to accuse someone of assaulting another person, and be arrested for it?

For an example, if a manager was to accuse someone of hitting another person, and say they got arrested for it but lied about a cop arresting them just to get them kicked out of a program?

    Yes that is illegal

    Lying to a cop who is doing their job is obstructing justice. So yes.
