What should I major in?

I want to go to medical school and become either a neurosurgeon or a plastic surgeon. Iam unsure what I should major in though. I am thinking about biomedical engineering, but does major really matter?

Major doesn't technically matter as long as you fulfilled the pre-med requirements of the programs you are applying to and scored well on the MCAT. Some programs actually prefer a non-science background since you may approach problems and situations differently based on your instruction, but that's not a hard and fast rule.

It does not really matter what you major, as long as you still have some kind of Med class/course (credit) too.

Major does not matter and mostly won't help you or hurt you. As long as you take med school pre-req's and do good on the mcat.
