The clutch pedal sticks down and doesnt come up?
I have Honda Accord CG4 coupe 2000.
Now and then (when the clutch is pressed repedeatly, mostly in city driving) the clutch pedal sticks to the floor, clutch engages and the car stalls (or I grind gears if it sticks down while shifting). After pulling the clutch back again, repressing it a time or two, it works fine again.
The fluid isn`t disappearing.
Is my master dying ? Or maybe I simply have air in the system ? Could this be fixed by bleeding the clutch ?
Also - are the clutch hydrolic systems the same ? Regular accords master costs some 20 - 30 euros. but for my accord its 100 euros. F*ck me, but i`m not paying that much just because the tip where the hardline screws in is different. Can I use master from prelude or accord ? Dimensions ar identical. I only have to figure out how to connect it to the system. original is straight up but others have it 45 degrees slanted
If anyone stumbles upon this and still needs info - I got master from prelude for 24 eur. Had to saw off the pivot where the clutch pedal come - it was a bit too long. Thread didn`t match, but if you use your head you can easely get around that.
The line from slave was straight but I needed it in slight degree. I thought about making custom end where it would fit. But before creating anything new, we just tried to bend it and it fit. Fit was quit snug.It almost touches that brake vacuum booster
But in the end it fits well. And I got around paying unnecessary 130 eur and got through with 24...
This makes me a bit angry. Theres no god damn need for different master and slave (different from other accords and ludes). But no...... They just had to use different ones so in the end you pay extra just because you happened to get such a car.

First best answer to BTDT. As far as the price, you may be able to find a rebuild kit. I went the rebuild kit route for years before I had enough money to afford rebuilts.
EDIT - BTW, for a clutch master cylinder you look for leakage where the pushrod comes through the firewall, under the dash. Wipe under it with a paper towel or scrap of newspaper and see if it comes out wet.

When the clutch pedal stays on the floor you have air in the system or a bad master cylinder. Best make real sure the slave cylinder doesn't have brake fluid under the dust boot.

Possible master cylinder problem, but first check that where the clutch pedal pivots is free and not sticking. I had a similar fault on an old Peugeot and a squirt of WD40 fixed it.

SOUNDS like the master cylinder is failing. Hard to say for sure without checking it myself.
