Since the High Court ruled that parliament need to vote on Brexit, why are many people saying the only real option for MPs is to vote leave?
Saying that if they vote against Brexit would be 'going against the will of the people' is a gross oversimplification.
Just over 48% of those who voted in the referendum voted to remain, with the majority of voters in one third of the UK voting to remain, and in many areas the vote was so close that half of the electorate will potentially be against them however they vote.
What MPs should do is vote for what is best for the UK and then make sure their voters understand this before 2020.

Because they would be seen as ignoring the will of the people otherwise, which would make it harder for them to be reelected.

Look, the majority voted Leave, therefore that is what the people said. We are ONE country so any arguments about parts of it are irrelevant. It's called democracy. You can make it as complicated as you like but we voted to leave the EU. Personally I didn't but I accept the vote of the people.
ALL the High Court said is that Parliament needs to have a say because it will need to anyway. Leaving the EU means repealing the European Communities Act 1972, which only Parliament can do, so even in practical terms it's a good idea to make sure it will before triggering Article 50.
