Why is it always "Penne alla vodka"?

Why not "Ziti alla vodka", or "Penne alla gin"? Not really serious, just curious.....

    Because people make it with penne but you can always make it with rotini and gin and call it Rotini Alla Gin. Not sure gin would actually taste good in marinara what with the juniper and orange peel and all.

    You could use any pasta, but gin instead of vodka would overpower the other flavors in the sauce.
