is he trying to be some sort of patriotic martyr or attempting to gain more hero worshippers? what he should have done was take it and quietly and privately donated it to charity

why would he need it? he's already rich.
plus it would push him into a higher tax bracket.
also, MOST presidents have donated their paychecks to charities...they've ALL been rich or came from money...when will we learn.
