When to tell a young kid your moving?

My family is moving from our state back to Seattle, Washington. This isn't my home state but it is my little brothers state where they were born I'm older I'm almost 19 but my little brother is 8 were moving in 8-10 months and my parents don't know how to tell him we're moving, he has all his friends here. What is the best way without hurting his feelings?

    that's always rough but you can either come right out and say it, or tell them you're going on vacation to Seattle.. but just not specify a return date

    maybe he can stay with relatives so he can stay with his friends that way
