Why do I feel worse when I sleep more?
I did a sleep experiment over the course of one month. For the first 15 days, I slept at 2:30 AM to 7:00 AM (4.5 hours). While it was hard at the beginning, I got used to it and I felt just fine each morning. The next 15 days, I slept from 10:30 PM to 7:00 AM (8.5 hours). And I felt horrible every morning. I don't get it. I used to think more sleep was better. It wasn't like half-conscious sleep or anything. I had at least 7 hours of actual sleep. Somebody explain.

When you sleep longer you're probably waking up at the beginning or middle of a sleep cycle, as opposed to the end, which will make you tired when you wake up.
