Why does the President have to be at least 35 years old?

I mean, it kind of sounds okay NOW, but in 1776, wasn't 35 the average life expectancy?

    No matter how intelligent you are, experience can only be gained through years. Youth is lost on the young.

    And the life expectancy was on average about 38, nice guess.
