What can I do about these nightmares?

I dated a guy who abused me, used me and treated me like dirt. With all the stuff he did, and actual proof, he didn't get in any trouble and walked away unscathed. Fortunately for me he moved away, or else I'm not sure I'd know how to handle myself.

But I'm having nightmares of one of the nights that he messed with me, and it's so bad I'm getting little to no sleep now. Is there any way to stop these nightmares of that psychopath?

If you read the Amazon ad for The PTSD Sourcebook by Dr Glenn Schiraldi, you'll see how much people with this disorder like this book.

The book explains a simple but surprisingly effective way to deal with recurrent nightmares that involves creating a new dream to replace your nightmare. Someone has said that this could be the most effective self-help method for a psychological problem. It's good for nightmares and it reduces other PTSD symptoms.

Subconsciously you still afraid of him!just because he moved away you still have to deal with what he did to you,how it made you feel, you have to take your power back!if you can't/won't seek professional help, try to write about it,as many details as possible what happened, how it happened, how you felt and how you were strong enough to survive,to get out,how much you love yourself for getting out!don't be afraid to face your past, that's how you overcome it
