Coping with Christmas after the death of my father. Please see details.?
Dad died in October this year. Christmas was his favorite holiday. I am not religious. But I loved my Dad and I am having a very hard time coping. The music, the commercials, decorations. It all feels too much for me.
I can understand why people kill themselves this time of year.
Is there a way to deal?

I am so sorry for your lost.
The first Christmas is the hardest.
It does get easier.
I lost my husband Dec 20 a few years ago.
Christmas was his favorite time of the year.
Each Christmas is a reminder of what I lost.
On the other hand, my child loves Christmas.
She looks forward to Christmas each year.
Watching her at Christmas make it easier for me.
Christmas will be hard this year.
Each year it will get easier.
Remembering how much your dad loved Christmas, will be a great memory for you some day. Do not rush grieving for your dad.

Relax. If you do not believe in God, then take comfort in the fact that your Dad's battle is over. He would have wanted you to move on with your life. Keep his memory in your heart, but be glad he gave you a pattern for your life.
