Theres not many species of fish that can be kept in a 10 gallon besides those two options, and 1 male betta or 3 female bettas. Make sure to cycle your tank first. Good luck.

Killifish such as Gabon Killifish or Splendid Killifish - Do best in mated pairs or with a single male

Peacock Gudgeons - do best in pairs, need live/frozen foods as their staple diet such as glassworms, brine shrimp, and daphnia. Get 2 females if you don't want fry.

Ember Tetras - need groups of at least 6 of their own kind

Neon Tetras - 6 of their own kind

White Cloud Mountain Minnows - 6 of their own kind

Dwarf or Mosquito Rasboras - get at least 6 of the specific species

Guppies - need at least 3. Get all males if you don't want fry.

Dwarf Puffer - needs live snails such as Pond or Ramshorn snails once per week, and frozen foods like glassworms, daphnia, and brine shrimp as the rest of the diet. Very aggressive, so keep as the only fish in the tank.

Pygmy Corycats - 8 is their minimum group size.

Generally, your tank would be big enough for 1 species. A male Splendid Killifish and 2 female Peacock Gudgeons would be an exception, since they don't require groups.
