Can I connect 2 Mice and Keyboards to the same PC?

I wanted to set up a Monitor, Mouse, and Keyboard in my office at work that is showing the same screen as my POS screen up front. I wanted to connect another keyboard and Mouse so I have access to the computer from 50+ feet away. Not looking for double access, just distant access for paperwork.

So, will a computer recognize two Keyboards and two Mice at the same time, clearly only 1 cursor and input at a time.

The problem is that USB may not work over a certain distance. One time I forget my microUSB/USB cable when out of town and did not realize that the cable I got from the store with a bunch of adapters was 16 feet long. I could not get my phone to connect to my laptop through that cable, although, it would charge the phone.

So you may need another computer and with both of them connected to a network you could use something like VNC.
