Can you use a 2015 Forever stamp to mail a letter today?

The price of a United States Post Office stamp increased from .47 cents to .49 cents yesterday. I was wondering if I stuck mail into the mailbox today, if the USPS would still honor the "Forever Stamp." I heard that the Forever stamp will still be honored until/when it is increased to a total of $1.50? Does anyone know if these two questions are true? I will reward points to the best answer!

Forever stamps never lose their value. You can use forever stamps until the end of time. Forever stamps will always be honored, even when the price of stamps increase to $1.50 or $3.00.

Forever stamps are just that. I'm not sure what you mean by increased to a total of $1,50.

First statement is true if your letter is under 1 ounce. Yes, you can use the Forever stamp today and it will cover the full cost.

Second statement is false. The USPS will honor the Forever stamp - no matter what the current price is - as long as you're mailing a letter that weigh one ounce or less.
