You still believe in the adage, "defense wins championships"?

Patriots #16th in DVOA and Falcons 27th in DVOA on defense.

Falcons SHUT OUT Packers in 1st half, I'd say defense won them that game for sure

Did you by chance watch the Super Bowl last season? Ask Cam Newton and the Panthers about that.

Yes. Look how K.C. was able to keep Pitt. out of the end zone.

#1 defense has won 4 of the last 5 Super Bowl games, or something like that, so, yeah, that makes a difference.

With that said...while the Patriots are the favorite (as they should be), to say they'd roll over the Falcons isn't too smart. Now, coaching, QBs, experience...all that and more favor the Patriots. But should they make mistakes and the Falcons capitalize, all won't be right with the Foxboro crew. Keep one thing in mind...a good few of the Falcons have seen the majority of the current Patriots team. The same can't be said the other way around; maybe Brady, Belichick, and Blount know a few players from the Falcons, but that's not enough. Planning is paramount...Matt Patricia has to be flawless against an offensive threat like the Falcons. And just scheming to take Julio Jones away will not cut it.

Yes. No one really has that good of a defense this year compared to teams in other years.
