Can you help me please ?

I am interested in purchasing a 06 infinity and it has 177,000 miles on it & and the asking price is 6950 ...... my question is ... is miles a big deal for a car ? Cause I'm going to keep up with my regular maintenance and things ... but with that mileage alone is it worth 6950 ?

I see what you are asking, but it is not a binary yes or no, ie big deal or no big deal.

First thing is the price only matters compared to the market in your area. If similar cars with similar miles are selling for 8,000 then OK good deal, if you can buy a 2006 with 120,000 miles for less than you have a bad deal.

Have you ever owned an older luxury car?

The key point is risk. Can you afford that risk. If you buy the car and 60 days later the transmission fails or the engine fails, you will most likely end up junking the car, or putting say $2,000-$3000 into it.

With more basic car the repair cost might not be so high.

This is a complex car that requires a repair shop that knows what they are doing. These specialty shops are expensive and usually busy. I take a 98 A6 to a shop 45 minutes from my house and have to leave it for a few days to a week depending on the repair and how busy they are.

You will have to do small repairs yourself.

An oil change will cost more than average.

But keep in mind too, if you buy a Honda Accord, they cost money to repair also.

Pull and instavin report. I would NOT buy any car from a flipper, curbstoner or title jumper.

You need to see the title and the seller's ID.

The car MUST be inspected by a mechanic. 99% of all luxury car sellers are selling because the car had a problem, they took it to a shop and they were told that repair plus all the other stuff that needs to be done like fluid changes, control arms, one strut is leaking, one caliper is bad, ect....total cost....$3,200.

The owner goes home and puts the car on CL.

    Best of luck.

I have 165,000 miles on my Infiniti (even older than '06), but it's not worth $6950.

Here, keionte, you can look up the current market value of this Infiniti quite easily yourself.
