Are women more easily offended than men?

No, not in the way of 'oh! little sammich maker getting angry then - woooo!' Que the feminist rage...

Seriously though, what is your opinion? Regardless of nature v.s. nurture, who done-it e.t.c. Are women genuinely more put out by non verbal, subconscious body language indicating something that could be interpreted as an 'insult'?

E.g. When having an idea that I didn't rate all that well explained to me by my male boss, supervisor, and manager, I happened to unconsciously cross my arms over my chest as I was listening to them. The manager remarked to the other two that I was crossing my arms because I though it was a **** idea... then continued on with it completely unfazed.

On the other hand a female employee asked me to do her (yet another) favor by helping her with her car. As she was explaining the situation, again, I unconsciously crossed my arms. She seemed hurt/angry and didn't bring it (her car) up again for some time.

Feel free to type a great wall in your personal examples hahaha

In my experience, yes, many women take offense very easily. That's not always true,, but I usually don't have to walk on eggshells around most men like I have to with some women. I learned (the hard way) over the past 50+ years to be careful what I say and do around women I don't know. I've had fewer problems like that with men I don't know, and if they did get offended, they usually got over it faster. However, when a man does get really offended at you, the consequences can be much worse (despite the old saying about a woman scorned).

    That's my experience, anyways

I'm giving this best answer because it lines up with what I have experienced, e.g. it's easy to offend a woman, but they often forgive you. when you manage to offend a man (as another man), that's pretty much it. They're done with you. And it seems to have the most thumbs up so far. Not that that necessarily indicates a 'correct' answer, as it can't really, conclusively be correct or incorrect. I was just curious about peoples opinions to be honest. Another best answer would have been Amy, for linking informative articles.

Not sure if it's women or Gen Y/millenials in general, but I'd say yes.

American women, especially upper middle class white women, have a near carnal desire for victimhood. Not only are they offended by nearly everything today, they can always resort to things that happened hundreds of years ago to claim victimhood. When life pretty much sucked for 99 percent of the population. Male and female.

I would assume so as it's been found that while men and women both experience the same amount of emotions women are more proned to negative emotions which I guess being offended is a negative emotion. Here's a good article I would suggest reading: https://www.psychologytoday.com/blog/sexual-person... the explains this and the difference between the emotions of men and women.
