"Forever changes" by Love released in 1967 might be one of the most underrated rock albums from the 60s. It influenced a lot of British rockers from Robert Plant to Elton John.

I would say "Eric is Here" by Eric Burdon and the Animals. The original Animals had just disbanded, and this collection of covers presented a fairly radical departure in style. Most people didn't care for it; I think it's great. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eric_Is_Here
