why do mosques use blaring loudspeakers even when the majority of people in their vicinity are not moslems?

    Tradition. Those things, along with constantly ringing church bells, should be banned for noise pollution.

    They are at least as conscientious as churches with bells. I think you're probably exaggerating, getting your outrage from rightwing propaganda machines.
