Transmission question?

On initial cold start. When I put my truck into gear before it has a chance to warm up at all, it won't go at first but slowly starts to move and slowly gets faster to normal speed without me pressing on the gas. After this slight warm up. It has no more issues. What could be the problem? My guess is the torque converter which I'm going to replace this summer any way. 1993 GMC 1500 sierra 211k miles

Low fluid will do that on cold starts. It's not the torque converter unless it's slipping. Sticky solenoid pack maybe. You might as well try a $100 fluid replacement before you go major.

    Sounds like a Dodge.

The torque converter is bleeding down over night. I'd change the ATF and the ATF filter too.

When was the last time you changed your fluid?
