Psychological reasoning behind an attraction to a certain "type" of partner?

    it usually has to do with subconscious thoughts of best genetics and abilty to secure. For example a blonde male may grow up perceiving his blonde trait is unfavourable mostly like due to not see as masculine. So then will search females partners with dark to hopefully pass that trait down to their children. Any personal attraction can be attributed to preferable genetics (usually directed by how they perceive society) and stability (perceived by society). another example a woman may go after musicians. Musicians show a skill favoured in society to attain the skill it requires commitment, some degree of intelligence, memory, creativity and motor skills. Generally if these skills are applied to anything is will usually generate some degree of success in todays society.

    We are more likely to be romantically attracted to people that remind us of our parents. We are also more likely to be romantically attracted to people whose immune system smells different to us.

    Also, close friends tend to share 4% of DNA, compared to 1% with strangers.
