When did you first let your child have chocolate?

And how often do they get chocolate?

My daughter was 17 months old when she first had chocolate and it was the day after Halloween when we had lots of candy from trick or treating and she wanted to try some.

She has it about once a week as a treat, usually on Saturday afternoon.

My nephew Xavier had chocolate the day after Halloween too, except he wasn’t even quite 11 months old yet (he was 2 days away from being 11 months old). He gets a little bit of chocolate every day basically or anytime his mom has it lol. He is 14 months old now, will be 15 months old on March 3rd.

  • My nephew Dillon and my niece Desiree (who are twins) were over 2 years old before they had any chocolate but they had eating issues and so my brother and sister-in-law waited for awhile before having them try things like chocolate.

They get chocolate every few days or so as a treat at 8 years old.

My niece Lily Belle had her first taste of chocolate at like 7 or 8 months old and her baby sister Dani Mae who is nearly 7 months old just had her first taste like a week or so ago. My sister and brother-in-law are very relaxed when it comes to their children trying new foods. Lily Belle had peanut butter at only like 8 or 9 months old.

Lily Belle, who is 5, gets chocolate every day, but not a lot of it.
