Should I lie to my dermatologist to get accutane?
I ve had acne for years since 11. I m tired of creams and stuff. I just want to look at myself in the mirror without focusing on one or two pimples in my face. I have concluded that I have hormonal acne and its most likely a genetic disease that was passed on to me from my father. In my last visit I lied to my dermatologist and told him I ve tired everything and been prescribed heavy creams. He told me to bring my proscription history so he can eventually prescribe to be accutane. I really believe accutane will help me so I am thinking about creating a fake history. Is this a good idea?

I understand the frustration. Accutane has some serious side effects and should be the last resort. Use easy one-step for treating Acne and Acne scars - works with cystic and all other forms of acne. Just get Niapads ® Niacinamide pads. These face pads help keep acne away by scrubbing open clogged pores, oily residues and exfoliation. Feel a pimple coming? Activate a pad with drops of water and place it on the pimple Remove it when dry. Sit back and watch pimple disappear. Works on body acne too.
These pads also help reduce skin hyperpigmentation (acne scars) and increases skin hydration. Try it and see the difference.

Well, you can't take Accutane until you are 18 if a girl and 22 if a guy, because it will stop you growing. Harry Potter is short because he took it.
ACCUTANE has the real potential to cause Premature Epiphyseal Closure (google it if you want to know more). When this happens, the growth plates in your bones seal up prematurely. This is a very serious risk to patients who haven't finished growing. Accutane will stop your growing (as will the Pill), Accutane should not be given to girls under 18 and boys under 22. Read the patient Information leaflet. The Pill can upset your internal flora to the point of dysbiosis.
google 'premature closure of the epipheal plates'. Why is Harry Potter so short?

If you are on Accutante now and haven't finished your expected growth - GET A BONE AGE TEST NOW!
A bone age test is a simple x-ray of the left wrist. There is no excuse for anyone exposing themselves to this risk when it is so easy to monitor.
Would you knowingly trade four inches of height for clear skin? I just hope that this message is getting through and that people will insist on monitoring bone age as part of the treatment for patients who may still be growing.
I suspect that is what happened to Daniel Radcliffe aka ‘Harry Potter’.

The epiphyseal plate or growth plate is a cartilaginous or strong elastic section at the tip of the long bones of the body. Located in the metaphysis, the broader portion on each end of the bone, these sections allow the bones to lengthen as the body develops. Without this plate the body would be unable to grow taller. Epiphyseal closure or the stoppage of bone growth occurs between the ages of eighteen and twenty-five.
During development, the cells that make up the epiphyseal plate continually divide through a process called mitosis where the cell transforms into another identical cell. As these cells mature, they shift towards the mid portion of the bone called the diaphysis allowing for the process of redesign to continue at the epiphyseal plate. Once the body reaches maturity, all the cells responsible for new bone growth ossify or solidify into bone and this progression stops, thus bringing on epiphyseal closure. At this time the plate transforms into the epiphyseal line, the only remnant of the growth process.
When problems occur with the epiphyseal closure of a bone or bones, changes in the body’s structure or height can be evident. For example, if epiphyseal closure occurs before full maturity is reached, normal height may not be attained. When closure does not occur, the long bones will continue to grow allowing the individual to surpass natural height. These abnormal changes can also affect the shape of the long bones and create irregular formation resulting in deformities
Vitamin A overdose symptoms begin with blurred vision and neurological complaints such as seizures. During the immediate onset of toxicity, migraine symptoms — like nausea and light-sensitivity — may suddenly strike a patient. Children suffering from hypervitamonisis A may over time have premature bone setting, called epiphyseal closure, that prevents them from growing properly. Chronic symptoms of a vitamin overdose due to long-term accumulation of vitamin A include skin disorders and hair loss.
* Accutane has a half-life of 18-20 hours so in 5 half-lives (100 hours), its out of your system completely. In other words, as long as you don't pregnant in the 1st month after stoping accutane, there should be no issues
