Did the average height change?

The average height for a male is said to be 5'9-5'10ish. However, it seems like there are more taller people. Did the avg height change?? I mean it seems like more people are 6'1-6'2 than 5'9-5'10.

Depends on the country. In the USA the average height is actually 5'8.5" and is going down as more shorter people move into the USA (the large hispanic population is the fastest growing, and shorter than that average). Most people you see wear shoes, so you have to subtract an inch off their height to have their true height. Some areas may have taller people-- northern USA has taller people than the South because more of Nordic or German ancestry settled there, and they are taller than average.

The average height is on a global scale, and that involves a lot of very short people in China and in other places. You might want to google the average height of males in just your own country.
