Is society wrong? What do you think?

I know this is a touchy subject, so i'll just dive in.

A man hitting a woman. This is unacceptable and wrong.

A woman hitting a man. This is fine.

I've never hit a woman in my life, and I never EVER will. However, I do have to ask, is it ever acceptable to do so?

Women slap men when they are being verbally abusive, or even just having an argument. Why can a man not do this too?

It just strikes me as such an odd thing. I've always been taught by my parents never to even raise a hand to a woman.

But i've seen it in films, and i've had it done to me where the woman will hit the man and its fine, you just have to accept it.

I've also seen it where a woman can ever go at a man verbally over and over to the point where they know he will snap as any human would, and they keep going, and then once they snap and hit the woman, its all of a sudden the man who is in the wrong.

So is there ever an acceptable moment to react? and why is it not acceptable for the man to do it. Why is it "omg you beat that girl!" yes if a woman does it to a man you never hear "omg you beat that man". why?

Is it ever acceptable to do so? Yes

Physical violence in retaliation to verbal abuse?
Never. It is 100% wrong for both sexes.

"I've always been taught by my parents never to even raise a hand to a woman." Me too. Except, times have changed. Women are equal to men now. Some women still think it's acceptable to hit a man and interestingly enough don't expect retaliation.

Again, verbal abuse begets verbal abuse. I absolutely disagree with physical retaliation to verbal abuse! Regardless of gender:
"If you hit someone you might get hit back"
"If you slap someone you might get slapped back" 
"If you verbally abuse someone, you'll probably get some harsh words back"

It's the fear or reciprocity that stops most violence: you take that out of the equation & you've given one group [in this case women] carte blanche (complete freedom) to attack another group without consequences. There are many women who feel that their sex makes them immune from retaliation. They 'know' that men are taught to 'not hit girls' and take advantage of it. They think that they are protected by society's norms and feel protected to 'see what they can get away with'.

Society is right about that. You just need to bare it. You do have to defend yourself though; in the case where a woman is going to really hurt you.

Your entire question, especially your apologetic qualifications, demonstrates the you are nothing more than a mind controlled slave. Whatever answers you get wont matter, you will continue to be what you are until the day you die.
