Why are you pro-choice?

Because women have to deal with the most burdensome consequence of sex: pregnancy. They deserve a choice to decide whether they want to endure this or not. it's their body being stretched and ruined for 9 months. Shouldn't they get a say?

If men had to become pregnant, would this still be as controversial?

Because I can understand the dangers a pregnant woman faces, and, just as I wouldn't make it law that someone has to involve themselves in a situation dangerous to their lives for someone else, like running into a burning building, or digging someone out of a building collapse, or diving into a flooded stream, I'm not comfortable ordering someone to risk her life and health to have a child.

Maternal morbidity and mortality is a real risk even in this country.

    - Because it's not my place to tell a woman what she can and can't do with her own body.

    - Because no woman should be forced into poverty trying to pay for doctor's visits, treatments, taking time off work, because some stuffy old man thinks that the God they believe in wants them to control women.

    - Because there are already far too many people relying on social services to get by that, to add more strain on the system is just unfeasible.

    - Because by far the best way to reduce abortions is by providing a concise sexual education program NOT exclusively touting abstinence, and by giving better access to contraceptives.

    - Because abortion is used in terminating pregnancies that have already miscarried, and forcing a woman to carry a miscarried pregnancy to term is it's own unique brand of cruelty.

    - Because there are medical issues that may place either the child or mother's lives in jeopardy, and it would be cruel to both to either allow the birth to take place knowing the child would live in agony and torment, or knowing the mother would die from it, leaving the child without that bond.

Only where it pertains to the living, not how one chooses to kill their children.

People get to control their own health and body.

Because while we still have an excess of children without forever homes (check out foster care in your city) I see no point in bringing more unwanted children into the world.

all sorts of reasons such as

    * No woman should be forced to be a mother

    * " pro-life " promotes human suffering

    * unwanted children are a huge burden to the society that they live in

Because I believe there are medical reasons to abort a fetus. Also a rape victim should not have to give birth to her rapists baby because she chose dishonor over death. And I believe that those who oppose abortion cut the wire dangerously close.

I want to have fewer welfare babies.

because the thought of a doctor ripping out a fetus whole or in parts and throwing it in the garbage does not bother me. if it did I would probably be pro life.
