My job says they want me to become a manager but feel like they are pulling the wool over my eye's. Help?

So i've being working at my job over 3 years now and last year I brought up to them about becoming a manager. They said they would train me and also want me to develop more manager skills. I recently had my yearly review and brought up about becoming a manager and she said she still wants me to develop more skills and train me soon. They being saying this since last year and I feel like they are just trying to make me think I am becoming one but just playing with me. I'm not sure what to do. I work hard and do my best to be a team leader and not sure what else I need to do. I feel like if they give the position to someone else, I am going to leave since they have lied to me. Any advice?

If they hired anyone else into the position you want, they are pulling the wool over your eyes. If not, they may be limited on payroll hours to train you or personnel to do your job while you train.

You keep pushing for the training and improve yourself. I would urge you to take an English comp or communications class to help you come across as more professional.

And if you want to leave, you leave. Have another job ready to go - a job that will promote you like you want.
