Right tire pressure?

Question

I have four new Hankook Dynapro ATM tires rated at 235 70r16. As far as pressure, the max psi is 50. My Ford sport trac'S optimal psi says 30.
  The problem is though, at 30 psi these tires look nearly flat and it's really concerning. The car runs alright but turns are iffy and breaking hard isn't going well at all. What is the amount of pressure l can inflate to for this model? Or am I just going to have to deal with the squished, deflated look? Everyone seems to have a different answer.

I always go with 35 PSI and found it to be adequate.  They would look a little flat up front due to front weighing more.  Side walls are more flexible nowadays and should give you better handling as more rubber stays on the road.   Why don't you go where you bought them and ask if that is normal or not.

Is the size you installed the recommended tire for this vehicle if not then go by the recommended psi on the tire

I personally would run these tires at 30-32 PSI ( no higher unless carrying a load).

This is a personal preference for the tires on my sports car as it seem to give optimal handling and braking. Disregard the fact that the tires look flat. At 30-32 PSI they aren't flat.

The factory recommended tire PSI's are on the spec label under the drivers door latch. If you want a firmer ride raise the pressure 2 to 4 lbs. in each tire. The max. rating on the tire sidewall is only for mounting tires and has nothing to do with driving safe pressures.

I've run those at 35psi and had good luck with wear and ride.
