Does a Young Soldier need $400K SGLI? No dependents.?
No dependents. Do I really need $400K SGLI? I don't have staggering debt ($15k student loans). Car is paid off. Rent an apartment so no difficulty in settling that.
I've been thinking to cut back to $50K. $400K just seems excessive.
It's a difference of $25/mo. Certainly not a staggering loss but I imagine there is benefit to eliminating any recursive unnecessary expenses.
TLDR: No dependents. Do I really need $400K life insurance? Can I cut it down?

It depends on WHO ur beneficiary is.
Parents ? Nice for THEM.
U only need enough to pay off bills any one cosigned with u.
U need enough for burial expenses. Here 7000$ up.
Cremation here is under 2500$

If you have no dependents, what is the purpose of the life insurance?
i don't think you need a dime of life insurance.
- your debt dies with you as long as no one co-signs for it.
