I would sure appreciate some input on methods to maybe soften his disrespect and total lack of thankfulness.?

Question

My grandson has lived with me off and on  for several years. He had been both emotionally and physically abused.   When he was 10 years old his mom literally kicked him out and then called me to come get him.  I live humbly but own my own small home.   I don t have a lot of $ Left over after bills are paid.
He is now 14, and is a freshman  Every day pretty much since starting high school he tells me how poor I am and is very rude and

I dont think telling him a few home truths would be out of line here
Explain you lived within your means, and didnt expect to have to raise a teenager at this stage in your life, you have what you need, and so does he and for that he should be grateful

He may not have come to terms with his start in life, but that doesnt mean he shouldnt appreciate what he does have
