My ID has a star in the upper-right corner and is federally-compliant. Will MEXICAN Immigration accept my REAL ID card?

I know that I will NOT have an issue coming back to the U.S. But I do NOT want to come back to this country. I just want to know if MEXICO will accept it if I ride the Greyhound bus from U.S. to Mexico City.

Or do I have to say in..... AMERICA :-( ...... for another 2 to three weeks and wait for a passport to come in the mail?

Please only answer if you have experience with walking across the border (Think El Paso-Ciudad Juarez) or riding a bus across the border. I know that riding in a car is a totally different experience.

Don't ask me why don't have my passport yet because that's not your business. Either answer the question or pass me by -oh-gentle-savior.

Here is my plan:

Ride the Greyhound bus from Denver, Colorado to El Paso, Texas, get off the bus and ride a cab from the bus station to the border. Next, I will Get out of the cab, walk myself and my belongings across the border over into Ciudad Juarez, catch a cab to the Omnibus center and purchase a ticket to Mexico City.

Will this work or will the bus get stopped by immigration checkpoint officials and question me for a passport, refuse to accept my Colorado I.D. and tell me I have to go back to ..... Amerikkka?

Gosh, I hope I can get there without waiting for a passport; I am ready to leave.... LIKE YESTERDAY!

Please forgive my typos and grammatical errors; I am in a rush and do not feel like proofreading.

If you do not have a passport, or passport card, then you need an enhanced drivers license. Those are the only IDs accepted at international land borders borders.

Enhanced drivers licenses are only issued by Michigan, Minnesota, New York, Vermont, and Washington
